这两部电影的导演同为 Gus Van Sant (格斯·范·桑特)，Elliott Smith 的伯乐，使Elliott在1997年凭借[Good Will Hunting]获得奥斯卡最佳音乐提名，在１９９７年第７０届奥斯卡颁奖典礼上，穿上一身白色礼服的Elliott Smith害羞的低着头演唱了《Miss Misery》，这真算是超现实的一刻吧，一个来自波特兰的地下乐手穿着白色燕尾服，旁边站着流行天后席琳．迪翁。虽然演出只有短短的三分钟，但是一句真挚的“do you miss me ， miss misery”，却也胜过当年名噪一时的“I know that my heart will go on”。
